No Time For Diabetes

I really do not have time for diabetes in my life.  I wake up at 5:15 AM on a regular weekday and do not get to sleep until almost 11 PM. The day is spent taking care of the kids, working, doing chores, etc. - who has time for all of these extra little things that come with being diabetic.  What extra things, you say?  Well how about checking the blood glucose levels?  How about making sure that you have all of the required foods for each meal?  How about taking medication?  How about exercising? How about making different foods for you and your kids, because when they only eat certain things, you need to make sure that they eat (you cannot force them to always eat the way you do). I'd rather make macaroni and cheese every night if they eat as opposed to them looking at the grilled chicken and salad and only taking two bites.  Luckily, they also like fruits.

I have begun to exercise almost every night. Each time I exercise it is for about 20-30 minutes.  This is time after my kids go to sleep, that I spend time on other projects, such as this website.  This is thirty minutes that I am not doing things that I want to do.  Many years ago, I used to enjoy exercising, but not it is hard to get back into it -- especially when I am forced to do it, as opposed to wanting to do it.

If I were single, had no kids, or my kids were older and out of the house, I would probably enjoy this challenge.  However, with kids, it sometimes makes it impossible to do anything at all.  I wish that I had never had diabetes.

PS: No, I did not take my blood today.  Finally a day where I did not feel like I was a pin cushion.
