Fast Food and the Coming Weekend

I am going away for the weekend.  I was originally really looking forward to it.  I am still looking forward, but not as much.  Part of going away, meant that I would be grilling for most of my meals.  But, what is the use of grilling when I can only have three ounces of meat?  Even if I want a burger, it wouldn't even be a quarter-pounder. I do not think they have steaks that small.

I ate at my first fast-food restaurant today since diabetes - Burger King.  I will eat at a fast-food place if I am with one of my kids, out of necessity or one of those occasional cravings every few months, but I am I was in the city and did not want to spend a lot of money, so a burger joint is was.  I had a grilled chicken salad and "lite" dressing with and a diet coke (no croutons).  It was not bad and fairly filling.  However, I was never a big soda drinker, and really did not like the diet coke - I should have ordered a bottle of water (which I did not realize they sold until later).  I could suffer with a salad at a place like BK or McDonalds, but would I be able to go out to a decent restaurant and eat a salad?
